Here is a video that shows some of the action at a middle school where the students decided to keep their protests on-campus. The awkward tween girl interviewed here is *shocker* not so eloquent, but I love that the students are using their arts education--in this case music--to illustrate what is being taken away from them.

awesome for these kids. way to take the reins and speak out for what you believe in, and like you said, sarah, way to demonstrate the lessons learned through the arts! i want to believe that student-led protests are the thing that tips the scales in this kind of fight, and perhaps it will be, but the cynic in me worries that those in charge will be dismissive of this kind of action. here's hoping the power of youth triumphs.
